Notes:

- From a local review: "Lexington's hard rock buffs got something old and something new last night when metal wrights Aerosmith made an increasingly rare tour stop at Rupp Arena. The seminal heavy metal group, which inspired newer hard rock bands like Van Halen and AC/DC and was once one of the biggest selling rock acts in the world, has gone through some changes since its last tour ... Part of the excitement at last night's show, for the over 8,000 fans who showed up, was the speculation over whether band leader/songwriter Steve Tyler and the two new guitarists, Jimmy Crespo and Rick Dufay, could haul the mail the way the old band did. The new band started out, appropriately enough, with 'Back in The Saddle,' a near-hit from the old band, and continued with lesser known material and blues cover versions for the better pan of the night.

The idea, apparently, was to prove they could rock out without resorting to an every-third-song's-a-hit pace. Tyler was in great voice, and the new players are technically equipped to handle the job. In addition, it seemed like the group had tightened up its stage act. The ghosts of concerts past crept in as the night wore on, however, and when it came time to put together a string of well-known songs, it seemed to be too little and too late. Although a good part of the crowd was relieved enough to finally start enjoying the night, the band had somehow lost its punch, and a surprisingly large number of fans were leaving just when the fun was supposed to start" (Lexington Herald-Leader, 2/19/83).
